If you have a small business, you have to do something that will set your business apart from other businesses. Imagine the good will when Mr. X walks in on his birthday and you have his favorite birthday pastry and coffee waiting for him. You can do this because his history will tell you what he buys every day and what time he usually comes in. Just a small gesture like that can earn you customer loyalty forever.
You can also set the club up so that the programming reminds you when they have hit a certain level. For instance, for every 20 cups they purchase, they get a cup free. They have their 21st cup and when they reach into their wallet, you merely smile and tell them that this one is on us. Again, everyone wants to know that their money is valued and by doing small things like this, you are telling them exactly that.
Magnetic card readers can be used for many different things, but this is probably not something that you ever even thought of. Having a VIP Club for your customers is a great way to not only bring in business, create business and maintain business, but also a genuine way for you to show your customers that you not only need their business, but that you appreciate it as well.
